STONE TESTING LABORATORY
(R&D CENTRE)

Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) has established a Dimensional Stone Testing Laboratory cum R&D Centre with the assistance of Ministry of Mines, Govt. of india, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) & Government of Rajasthan and Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO).

TESTS BEING PERFORMED

Following tests are being performed accordance to American (ASTM) and European (EN) Test standards.

SAMPLE SIZES

The number of specimens mentioned below, is the minimum numbers required by the standard. However laboratory requires 3 extra specimens for each test in substitution of possible damages.

Sample Requirements

(I) In case of core samples, sample should be of NX size, (dia-54.4 mm) free from cracks, ridges etc and length of each piece of core should not be less than 20 mm or as per the test requirement.

(II) In order to avoid the damage of sample during transportation, the sample should be sent through a personal/courier to CDOS at their cost.

(III) Sample should be properly packed so that rock sample are not further broken during transportation.

(iv) All the requires sample specimen shall be prepared from a single block or rock mass. Faces of the sample shall be parallel, smooth and shape edged.

 


TEST CHARGES

Samples are to be provided by the client as per requirement of the test standard. However if sample preparation is requested and prepared in the Test laboratory than only sample preparation charge are applicable in addition to testing charges.

(I) 100% in advance through cheque or draft. The cheque or draft should be in favour of CDOS payable at Jaipur.
