BUYER - SELLER MEET
The
much - awaited `Buyer Seller Meet' at the India
Stonemart 2003 was held at RIICO's Common Facilitation
Centre (CFC). Organised jointly between the United
Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), Centre
for Development of Stones (CDOS), Rajasthan State Industrial
Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the Confederation
of Indian Industry (CII), this unique event sought to
identify Indian and overseas buyers with a common area of
interest and bring them together on a `one to one' basis.
Over
42 overseas participants had signed up for the first day's
session of this two-day event. Delegates from Canada, China,
Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Kuwait, United Kingdom, USA
etc were amongst the host of foreign participants. On the
domestic front, no less than 70 Indian companies participated
in the buyer seller meet on its first day. The discussions
at the meet ranged from aspects like Agent appointments and
Technology transfer to spares and accessories, marketing networks
as well as joint ventures.
``These
meeting illustrate a focused approach towards bringing the
manufacturer and purchaser together,'' said Mr Mukul Rastogi
from CDOS, who felt the response to the meet was overwhelming.
The meet, explained Rastogi, follows a methodology wherein
like - minded businessmen may come in contact. As part of
the `Buyer Seller Meet', the National Small Industries
Corporation Ltd (NSIC) , Government of India are also
present here.
